How the Calc BC exam is scored
Each section counts for a fixed share of your score, from the 2027 exam format on AP Students. The calculator turns those shares into points on the 108-point composite that College Board's 2012 chart uses.
| Section | Raw score | Share of AP score | Composite points (of 108) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Multiple choice, Part A (no calculator) | 0 to 29 | 35% | 37.8 |

Composite score to AP score (estimate)
These cut points are from the 2012 AP Calculus BC practice exam, the most recent public conversion chart we found for this course. In 2012 the exam had 45 multiple-choice questions; the May 2027 exam has 42. The halves are still worth 50% each, so we apply the 2012 cut points to the same 108-point composite. College Board re-sets the cut points every year, so your exam's lines may differ.
